Lisa-Jo Baker has a blog that I love to read. She has this thing on Fridays – Five Minute Friday. You guessed it; write for five minutes straight. No editing. No re-do. She gives the topic and you just write. Then you link it up to her site, comment on the other link-er before you and boom-hundreds of bloggers are writing about the same subject on the same day.

Today’s Topic: LOOK

GO

It’s as if I wear glasses all the time and they’re not rose colored.

They are, however, glued to my face to where I can’t help but see everything through them.

Everything is askew and my mind believes the little white lie.

I call them ‘injury’ goggles.

Everything in our lives is affected by injury, by tragedy as if life happens under water, yet we watch from above.

Life is frighteningly familiar yet so altered, you cannot see yourself clearly. It’s an alternate you; an alternate universe you.

Yet, I know the Universe Maker. I know the One who orders my steps. I know the One who walks beside me and carries me. I know the One who created me and created Danny. I know I am here for His Glory alone, to bring Him praise no matter my feelings or circumstances. I know the One who is Sovereign.

He sees me. He knows me. He has not left me. He knows what lies ahead and I can only know in part. But, one day, I will see clearly. He will open my eyes and He will show me the masterpiece He’s made of our mess.

Until then, I will try to remove these goggles. I will wipe them from my face with His strength and I will really take the time to look.

STOP

Oh Allison, sister. I don’t know your story but I could feel your pain through those beautifully written words. I’m praying for you right now. You are loved…
